Hi all,

I am trying to update the firmware on my x7 (AC8350).

Now when I press and hold down the recovery/reset switch under the unit and attach it to Windows 7 (64) it does not even acknowledge that I have plugged it in. Because of this I can't update this way.
( I even downloaded the USB fix program for windows but to no avail)

I also trued the SD card method:

I have downloaded all software needed and put .img file on the SD card
Pressed and held down the recovery/reset switch under the unit and powered on.

I don't get the Android robot with a spinning shape in his stomach.
I get the Android robot with a red triangle and the recovery menu.

Any help much appreciated ! :)

In the instructions for themicroUSB cable method it does not tell you to plug in the power supply, only the micro USB cable.
What is the correct sequence of reset button, power cable and micro USB cable?
Thanks for any help!

You have to plug in power supply before anything. I was stuck on that for hours earlier. Hope that helps.

Sorry, when I wrote that procedure, it worked at my desk, but it may be that some motherboards can't supply enough power to the USB socket to power up the X7 without the X7's power supply in place.
Thanks for letting us know, I'll amend the instructions now.
