hdmi passthrough

ok i seem to have an issue i think it just might be a android thing but maybe silently can help
i hook my droidbox imx6 using hdmi and set it to have hdmi pass through
just like my blue ray and cable box so i can get audio from home theater speakers
but no sudio comes through from the droid box
i get audio from blue ray qand cable box
i even switch and used same cable and out put from blue ray
i turned/enable hdmi passthrough in android settign and in xbmc
the only audio is coming just from the tv nothing from the amplifier like the blue ray or cable baox
any suggestions ?

Hands up, until I find the surround pre-amp in Mum's attic, I'll be using logic rather than experience, I've yet to make it away from 2.0 speaker set ups at home.

That said/confessed, can you run through your set up again please, and we'll try and see what could be causing this.

As an example of the info that'll help me picture your set up:
(invented scenario)
My TV is a Sony 200" 8K set, 200WZ457T
It is connected via an HDMI cable to my BluRay player
My cable box and iMX6 share an HDMI switch as my TV only has two HDMI sockets.
My TV is connected to my HiFi amp/pre-amp via an optical (TOSLINK) cable.
With my cable box and BluRay player's audio set to passthrough, the audio is pushed from my TV to the amp, and doesn't come out from the TV speakers.
When I switch to my iMX6, audio only ever comes out the TV speakers.
