android box will not switch on or off

I just bought r99 android box and when its on works well, I have a s77 air mouse and keyboard which also works well the problem is it wont power on or off with remote power button either s77 or one it came with I have to unplug hdmi and power cable plug back in red light goes blue and it works
can anyone help please

I was going to suggest teaching the S77 to mimic the infrared remote control's power button, but then noticed you said it doesn't work either. @Dave C @8bitDev , I've not used an R99 box, any suggestions?
