I have recently installed the Kodi software as well as a few app add ons and ever since installed it I keep getting the error message windows services has failed to start and I also get a padlock in the bottom right hand corner of the screen and I cannot get on the Internet (Chrome). Once I uninstall the software the problem goes away. Is there a reason for this? Does anyone else have this problem and is there a fix for this? Oh I also have the T7 box and the same thing is happening to the laptops.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated

Craig :(:mad::confused:

Ok some basic questions.

What type of droidbox do you have - the reason I ask is droidboxes normally come with kodi pre installed.
I don't know what a t7 box is but I am familiar with the t8.

Your post suggests you've been trying to install a Windows version of kodi - maybe onto an android box? ( it's not clear from your post).

Basically can you provide more information on exactly what you've done; what software you've tried to install; on what machines.

I'm sure then that someone here will be able to help you.

All I know is that the Droidbox is the T7 and yes it does have all the apps pre-installed but for some reason since getting the box my laptop has been having problems loading up Chrome. I had the box connected to my Router via an Ethernet cable so that buffering wouldn't be an issue but since then I've been having the issues. I unhooked the Ethernet cable from the router in case that was the problem and yet I'm still having issues. I then decided to switch the T7 box off completely and install the latest version of Kodi on my Laptop (windows 10) to see if it was just a faulty box and yet again the problems persist (windows service has failed to connect, Padlock in the corner & cannot connect to Chrome). I un-install the software and my laptop goes back to normal.

I'm hopeful that this has shed more light on the problems I'm having and maybe someone can finally help me out on how to fix the problems,

Ok.
I would rule out any connection between the T7 box (which is a model not supplied by Droidbox) and what is happening on your windows laptop.

So the problem relates to windows and the way it is interacting with kodi.

Most of the people on this board will be familiar with the android os, and some with openelec os as droidboxes use them. Specialist knowledge of windows os will likely be sparse although someone may be able to answer your question.

Obviously something in your kodi implementation on Windows os is interfering with your network connection. Armed with that i have 2 suggestions:
1. Google your problem providing as much relevant info as you can in your search criteria e.g windows 10 kodi network problems or similar
2. Have a look at the official kodi for windows support community forum and see if anyone else has recorded your problem. Register there and post your question if necessary. Do not mention that you are using unofficial addons like genesis etc as they don't like that.

Hope you can sort it out.
