How to sign up for the Dingoonity forum?

Hello all, is anyone of you member on the Dingoonity forum as well? How did you sign up? It seems moderator approval is needed for signing up - I requested that a week or longer ago - but no response. Any suggestions? Thank you all!

RS97 custom firmware users guide for newbies

Hello all, I am looking for some guidance. I have successfully created a custom firmware sd card with CFW 1.2 and it works well in my V3 RS97 The problem: there is nothing on it - no apps, no emulators, no games - nothing. I did some research and I found that I need to install the required...

    stock firmware?

My google drive is at 99% capacity and I do not use megadrive. If you have a folder you can share with me (empty folder) I can put it in there.

    Sharing RS97 original firmware

Hello all, I have a brand new RS97 with original firmware. I took the microsd out and made an .img file. The games names are in English. I would be happy to share if you tell me where I should upload

    RS97 pro firmware update question

Hello all, I have followed the instructions from this site and downloaded the FW1.2 file for my V3 RS97 from the link you indicated. I copied the img file to my SD card and all looks good. Just one question: on the FAT32 partition there are empty folders for emulators, apps, games etc. I...

    Turn down the volyme

Update: I may take this even further. Just ordered some parts allowing me to turn the unit into a full raspberry pi emulation station. Those parts come with proper volume control. So I will most probably not tweak the factory setup too much. I will try it briefly and then convert to a raspberry...

    Several RS07 questions

Thank you. Will consider for sure on my next order. I appreciate the super prompt responses - that in itself is very valuable.

    Several RS07 questions

Just out of curiosity - how much would DHL shipping to Canada cost (as I did no see that option)? There are duties and taxes to be paid for DHL shipping - which are at least 13%, but often much more - would you know what they may be? I paid for the RS07 from China (all costs included, no duties...

    Several RS07 questions

Wow. I did not know. Will definitely consider that for my next purchase ( I may get an RS97 unit after the RS07). Thank you.

    Turn down the volyme

I will try, but it may be a while since I do not have my unit yet and I am unable to find a downloadable copy of the original firmware image :(

    Several RS07 questions

I am in Canada and I already paid for the unit :( so now all I can do is wait. It comes from China but I have warranty (well, for 30 days) by Amazon, which is good to have. The link you have provided would use Royal Mail - that also can take a couple of weeks. But since I already purchased...

    Turn down the volyme

I will see what could be done about that as soon as I get access to the unit (or hopefully - even before that if I can get access to the original firmware image file).

    Turn down the volyme

Good luck - I am happy to help if I can. I will do exactly the same on my unit (plus a few other small mods) as soon as it arrives.

    Turn down the volyme

Great. If you can measure the speaker - check the impedance (how many ohms). It is most probably either 4 ohms or 8. To halve the volume on a 4 ohm speaker just get a 4 ohm 1 W resistor and connect it between the speaker and the board. The resistor should be pretty cheap. If you cannot measure...

    Turn down the volyme

Are you comfortable with opening the unit up? Are you experienced (comfortable) with very simple electronics work? For now you could just plug a headphone in, and if you have one which has an inline volume control that could be a fix (at least a temporary one), no?

    Several RS07 questions

I like to look at the contents to see what I could tweak (even before actually tweaking) as that will make the tweaking much more efficient. I bought the device on Amazon and the seller has no idea about the firmware image or about the device itself... All he provides is a tracking number...

    Several RS07 questions

Of course. But it will be 6 weeks or so before I have the device. At that point I will also gladly share it with others. But I was hoping to play with it (the contents) while waiting ...

    Turn down the volyme

I do not have my unit yet - but if I found the volume really loud I will put in a resistor to reduce it. Alternatively I may also use a potentiometer in case there is enough space in the unit. But a (higher wattage) resistor is probably the easiest solution.
