Hi I am new here hope I am in the right place to ask this question. I have two T95Q boxes one with 8.1 and one new one with9.0 on it believe I have this is correct. They work fine and my internet speed is about 90 mbps, I put Vantage on both and now my speed is 10mbps the Ethernet doesn't really want to connect without shutting down the VPN. WIFI still works but mine is not good hence the hard wire. Can put the boxes side by side one with IPVantage terrible speed 10mbps, the one without 90Mbps any suggestions as to how to solve this issue.

It sounds like the VPN provider may have a bandwidth limit. You would need to contact them to confirm this. Regarding the ethernet not connecting, are you using an app to connect or manually entering the details in to VPN section?

Thanks for the reply, but it is not the provider bandwidth issue limit. Just put it on my laptop and the speed hasn't changed and is 6 times better than on my T95Q.But even on my laptop I have to shutdown IPVantage and restart it when it is hard wired, but it does work and speed is good. It only seems to give the issue when using my T95Q hardwired, it gives same speed as WIFI even with the WIFI disconnected.

There should not be any reason why it would be slower on the Android device than Windows unless there is something in the app itself restricting it. Check in the settings of the app to see if there is a speed limiter, or maybe a timer to enable/disable speed limit. If it is possible can you create a VPN entry manually and see if there is any difference? Also if it is possible can you try the VPN software on another android box or even a mobile phone and see what speeds you get.

Sorry I never answered before Dave C but here is what I found out Based on Ipvanish. I was told that VPN will slow down your connection because of the way it has to go through the different servers to hide your IP address. I was told to check different servers and do a speed test and pick the fastest one for my area. Also connect to the server closest to my location. I did the leg work and did find one (at this point) that is faster so I will use it unless something happens to that one. So it was not theT95Q, it was the server the VPN was using. Thanks for your help on this.

I agree, I am getting close to 50mbps now but my problem is I am about 1500 miles to the closest server. IPVanish suggests connecting to the closest server. Mine isn't very close.

Yes it is and I have done that but it seems the further away the less speed. I live in Nova Scotia Canada closest is Montreal about 1000 miles usa is just as far.

I see, if that is the closest then it may be worth trying another. As long as your are not gaming, the distance should not matter too much, it is more about the bandwidth speed which could be higher in a different location.
