I have a Droid box T8-S and it froze while watching a film we had to delete cache and Reinstall Woogie before I could get the film to play. If I bought a Sandisk SSD plus 240gb Hard drive would this rectify the issue, would need to know quick as a good deal runs out in 4 hours.

Thanks in advance

Freezing is one of those things. It happens. Is it happening a lot? Closing down kodi and then reopening the app is normally successfull. Why did you need to reinstall wookie? I cannot see how buying a hdd would help unless you are downloading movies as opposed to streaming them.

Try to delete the temp files through Es File explorer. When you watching movies or other TV show the cache or temp file gets stored on main memory not external memory so buying HDD can't resolve this issue. Follow the instructions below:
1: Start your box as normal.
2: Then Click on Circle with 6 dots at the Bottom of Screen, it will open up your apps.
3: Then Click On Es File Explorer.
4: The on left hand side menu in Es File Explorer click on Tools
5: Then Click on Sd Card Analyst
6: It will analyze the memory of your box and display which folder is taking up the maximum space.
7: Then click on the top most folder which is the folder taking max space on the box which will usually be Android.
8: Then Click on Data folder>then click on org.xbmc.kodi or com.semperpax.spmc (if using DBMC) then Click on Files then Kodi or Spmc (if using DBMC) then you will see the temp folder.

In case others end up in this thread wondering the same question, as things currently stand, adding an SSD drive to your device isn't likely to help with freezing, as long as you have enough free space left on the internal ROM storage.
If at some point in the future firmwares allow us to treat any internal spinning/SS drive as contiguous internal storage, then adding an extra drive could help, at this point though you'd be looking at which was faster, SSD via SATA in the DBx, or the internal ROM read/write speeds. Interested what the benchmarks would show there.

TV addons have an addon called maintenance addon. It is very handy, very simple to use. In it, with. One click you can clear your cache, check for addon updates, even check your is address if you are using a vpn.. Suggest you search YouTube for a wee tutorial on the maintenance addon first

Hi

Internal memory has to be used for apps data so running SSD would not affect on Kodi(XBMC) runtime when it come to add ons or add on wizards they are server based,it would only impact on offline media files stored on the SSD itself.

What you can do is install new Wookie lite pack.

That pack is lightweight(under 150Mbs download)and it contain minimal number of add ons,the best and most reliable ones!

Being as such it will not cause freezes on updates, still leaving box 2 to 5 minutes upon initial wookie wizard install and first run would be good thing to do,because first update is always largest one so it have high change of freezing the box up!
