Hi. Please help me... I just signed up for ipvanish. I have tries setting it up via vpn in my network settings on the Android side of my t8s plus. I have also tried just using their app for Android. In both instances I have successfully changed my up address to an American one... however... My Internet speed drops from 30mps to 3 MPs. Any suggestions?

I hope you have not paid out anything before finding that out. Its one of the negatives of vpn's as many people may be using the connection. Worth checking if the paid for version offers a premium service. If not try another.
If you have shelled out some dosh then your best bet is to contact the provider. Good luck.

Your internet speed will definitely drop with a lot of VPN providers, but it is probably worth looking at some other servers they run in America, as one will hopefully be faster than 3Mbit/sec.

I meant to ask, have you contacted IPVanish regarding the low speed? If not, please do, and feel free to use my name ("Chris from DroidBOX sent me" :) ) and link to this forum thread. If a solution is found, and you get a spare moment, could you post an update here please Sam? I've met up with one of the guys from that company, and they impressed me with their knowledge and desire to get the best for their customers. Hopefully the low speed was a temporary blip or a server that needed a kick.

Does anyone using IPVanish have any trouble with the fact they only allow 2 connections at a time? Not sure why I would want more but was thinking if my other half is using the droid box and me my phone and tablet then I am already over the 2 connections.

One option would be to install the VPN details on your router/modem, IF it happens to be compatible with OpenWRT/Tomato (check their site to be certain, I think those were the two alternative firmware builds for modems that can be used). All devices would then use the VPN automatically. I don't think this is circumventing their connection limit, as https://ipvanish.com/vpn-setup/#routers has the details. Ah, DD-WRT, not openWRT.

hi me again i have a t8mini ,i can connect to ipvanish no problems but when i have connected how do i come out of the app without disconnecting again ?. i have tried pressing the home buttom and then gone to xmyip.com and its shows my isp and location etc so i pressume it has disconnected from the vpn when i pressed the home button. the only other method of leaving ipvanish once connected is a back arrow but when pressed it asks me if i want to disconnect or stay connected ,if i select stay connected im back where i started on the screen with the 2 graphs showing up and down speeds ??
im blumin sick of this vpn nonsense this is the second one ive tried . i live in hope on here as ipvanish are now a partner with droid box (i think)

please help before i take a hammer to the lot ;-)..

Please excuse the delay. Pressing HOME is fine, but it sounds as though something else is an issue right now.
Can you run through (click by click) what you do between turning the DroidBOX on, and getting to the browser check that indicates the VPN connection isn't live? As in each keypress or click with the on screen cursor.
We can run through the same and check where your result differs exactly.

As an aside, another way to swap between apps (if you've run them once already) is to use Alt + Tab (same way as in Windows). If your remote control or keyboard has both an ALT and a TAB button, hold down Alt, tap Tab. Each Tab tap will rotate you to the next app in Android's list of recently running apps.

PureVPN

This one I like most. Have been using it for around 7 months no issues so far. Support is available when needed.
