had my x7 droidbox for a few weeks it has worked flawless until now. i will explain my issue;
droidbox is plugged into my denon receiver under my stairs. i also have apple tv, you view box, ps3 plugged into the receiver, all work fine.
yesterday my droidbox refused to show up on the selected av receiver input. I flapped around using a different input and nothing. The closest i got was a distorted gui screen that when i try to navigate my tv gives me a message "no hdmi input".
when i plug the droidbox direct to the tv i have no problem at all.
I am normally quite good at resolving issues but this has beaten me so far.
All devices work as normal in my av receiver apart from the droidbox.
i have a samsung smart led tv a few months old.
i have tried changing the video settings on the droidbox but nothing, occasionally a distorted screen that cracks out once i try to navigate.
could this be a resolution issue, i have literally had it plugged into the same input and changed nothing all this time, to be honest i rarely use the box maybe on a weekend like TODAY!
any help is appreciated, i assume i am not the only one.

When you changed the video settings on the DroidBOX, which method did you use, and which resolutions and refresh rates did you switch to?
If you have problems accessing the GUI, plug the X7 directly into your TV to make changes, then obviously back into your AV receiver to test if it is happy.
Worth trying - 720p, 1080i (if listed), 1080p resolutions, with 24/50/60Hz refresh rates (where available).

Also worth temporarily using a different HDMI cable to connect the X7 to your AV receiver, just in case.

Thanks for the reply. i have used almost every video setting 1080p 50/60 and 720p 50/60 then plugged back into the receiver.. This is very strange.
When i plug directly into TV there is no issues on any video setting.
i have no hdmi cable that is the same as the one supplied to swap over (smaller at one end), although this cable works fine for the TV.
the closest i came was once the gui showed up in pink, or a frazzled looking screen when i switched between sources. Ive also tried every source on the av receiver.
Confused!

I had to reset my (audio) equipment up when testing for surround sound. What's the make and model of the AV receiver, we can check if there is a reset to defaults combination of buttons you can press and see if that helps.

I tried that as i found the manual but no change. This is very strange i cant work this out. All my other devices are fine through the receiver. The droidbox is fine if i go direct into the tv. The weird part is it was working fine before.
Thank you for your help by the way.

The "mode not supported"... can you tell from the font or colour of the text/background whether it is your TV stating this, or the AV receiver?

OK, two routes from here that I can think of right now, given that it used to work fine, but now doesn't...

1) Try a different cable. They're about £1.79 on Amazon - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wired-up-HDMI-Mini-Male-Cable-A/dp/B00104UO88 or can I see if a spare one in the office can be found and sent to you.

2) A factory reset on your X7 - https://droidbox.co.uk/blog/how-to-access-your-droidboxs-recovery-menu/. If that fixes the issue, try to install the minimum of apps for a few weeks, and we'll see whether it lasts.

Im sure its the tv giving the output message.
I done a factory reset earlier and its the same i also plugged directly into a hdmi minitor and it was fine. This saved me disconnecting it and taking it into front room.
Ok i will order a lead anyway.
I tried the factory reset and the pic i got on screen was an android man lying down with a hatch open on hes tummy with a keypad.

Its worth a try. Bit gutted as i cant use the box. I took a pic earlier when the picture came up on the tv. It was pink and looked like the res was really high.

Here are some pics. Pink screen i can get once when i switch from another source, as soon as i try to control the droidbox it cuts out. Ive tried every resolution setting on droidbox and nothing. On the pink screen there are lines going up the screen, flickering...

I've seen issues like the pink screen on other equipment when one of the phono cables was dodgy out of the component video triple set. Not with HDMI though. How about asking at a forum where the AV receiver is better known? http://www.avsforum.com/forum/90-receivers-amps-processors/ might be a good place to start, I've had a look through a few dozen different search result pages there, but couldn't find a report like yours.

If the box, when connected directly to your TV works, I'm not sure if the office would replace it. You can try contacting them and seeing what they say - [email protected] - include info from https://droidboxforums.com/threads/what-to-include-if-you-need-to-e-mail-us.364/ and a link to your post to skip the same questions being asked again - https://droidboxforums.com/posts/5881
I checked the thread you linked to, the first poster had problems with his TV at 1080p resolutions, as it was a 720p set. The second person had a problem with their HDMI switch and a DroidBOX, but worked fine on a different TV. He ended up using a spare VGA input on his original TV.
